Larry the Loon is a proud new father. After making sure his chick is safely tucked away in its nest with mother loon, Larry ventures out on the beautiful lake in Northern Ontario to find food for his family. His fishing expedition is cut short, however, when he is hit by a careless boater. Larry suddenly finds himself alone and hurt on the big blue lake with no way of getting back home. With a lot of effort, Larry finally manages to make his way into a shallow bay where a caring family finds him and does their best to help the badly injured bird.

Larry the Loon is beautifully illustrated by renowned Muskoka artist, D.A Dunford, along with the many talented members of the Tobin Island School of Fine Art. Distinguished wildlife artist, Robert Bateman, adds his outstanding tribute to loons with a spectacular painting and foreword. As well, highly praised satirical cartoonist and artist, Andy Donato, adds his unique touch to the book with a fun illustration.

Larry the Loon offers children two endings, both of which are meant to bring awareness to the fact that conscientious and responsible boating and treatment of our environment, are imperative if we are to continue to coexist with the many amazing and beautiful species on our planet.
